4 Factors To Consider When Choosing A Milling Equipment

1 Product Fineness

The fineness of the product is the primary consideration when choosing the milling process equipment. If the raw materials are non-metallic minerals with medium hardness or less, such as talc, marble, kaolin, bentonite, feldspar, etc., the product fineness is required to be about 150-400 mesh, and Raymond mill, vertical mill, ball mill, etc. can be used.

If the product fineness is to be more than 400 meshes, in addition to choosing finer granular grinding equipment, such as vertical mills, ultra-fine grinding, etc., you must also choose a classifier, otherwise it will be difficult to meet the requirements of product fineness and gradation.

2 Product Output

It is best to use a process production line to compare the milling equipment that can achieve the product fineness, and choose a large-scale equipment that can meet the output requirements of a single equipment.

If a single piece of equipment cannot meet the output requirements, two or more mills must be used.

3 Product Particle Shape

For some non-metallic minerals, such as graphite, talc, kaolin, wollastonite, etc., maintaining the flaky or needle-like particle shape helps to improve its application performance and use value. Therefore, when selecting the milling process equipment for these minerals, the particle shape should be considered.

4 Energy Consumption Per Unit

Energy consumption is also an important factor to be considered when selecting milling equipment. Energy consumption is an important part of product cost. Good grinding and classification equipment and technology should have the lowest energy consumption per unit product.
